The Canadian Media Producers Association (CMPA)
federally incorporated ISAN Canada as a not-for-profit company in
2007. It is governed by a Board of six persons named by the CMPA.
ISAN Canada is approved by the ISAN
International Agency as a Registration Agency.
ISAN Canada serves those interested in the identification of audiovisual
works – individuals and organizations, creators and consumers.
Its basic function is to authorize Canadians as registrants (those
wishing to obtain ISANs) and readers (those wishing to search) of
the ISAN database, and, to provide ISANs (generally to the producing
entity). ISAN Canada also undertakes activities to raise awareness
of the standard and provide information to the industry and the
general public.
ISAN Canada and its founding member, CMPA wish to thank the Canadian
Audio-Visual Certification Office (CAVCO), the Canadian Television
Fund, the National Film Board of Canada and Telefilm Canada, for
their support toward the launch of Canada’s Registration Agency.
